The automotive gearbox assembly line – available in both manual and automatic Shifter versions – involves a series of assembly and inspection operations managed by operators responsible for each workstation.
The workstations include guided part picking from feeder warehouses through pick-to-light systems, controlled management of operation flow, recognition of incoming products, controlled manual positioning of components in dedicated poka-yoke fixtures, safe initiation of processing cycles, automatic assembly, and inspections.
A dedicated PC monitor guides the operator at each station through the operations and recognition of results and alarms.
Only products recognized as good can be transferred to the next stations.
Work orders come from the company’s information system, to which the line is bidirectionally connected through a plant supervisory PC.
