The semi-automatic battery control unit assembly line involves a series of assembly and inspection operations managed by operators responsible for each workstation; a dedicated PC monitor guides the operator at each station through the operations and recognition of results and alarms.
The workstations include the recognition of incoming products, the controlled manual positioning of components in dedicated poka-yoke fixtures, the initiation of processing cycles, automatic assembly and inspection, and the recognition of outgoing products.
Only products recognized as good can be transferred to the next stations, while NOK products are unloaded into specially sensorized boxes.
The application uses various automation and control technologies specifically integrated and aimed at achieving functional performance and cycle time, as well as sizing in a limited available area.
Interchangeable fixtures ensure the ability to manage the production of different types of products.
Work orders come from the company’s information system, to which the line is bidirectionally connected through a plant supervisory PC. Likewise, all data related to the results of specific assembly and inspection operations are stored in a centralized database.
